C2C² - Coast to Coast Cycle and Run
Thursday 28th July to Friday 29th July - Cycling from Tynemouth to Whitehaven
Saturday 30th July to Wednesday 3rd August - Running back to Tynemouth from Whitehaven
The C2C² team of 8 were joined by 7 others as they cycled away from Tynemouth on route for Whitehaven via Alston.
What started as a beautiful sunny morning on the east coast, turned into a cold, windy and very wet last 35 miles into Alston.
The following day the weather was kinder, and apart from a couple of wrong turns the team arrived into Whitehaven at teatime on the Friday.
The team then began their journey back to Tynemouth with some epic finishes along the way (Keswick, Carlisle, Haltwhistle and Hexham).
The final day saw over 20 runners join the team from Close House Hotel for a memorable finish on the golden beach of Tynemouth Long Sands.
